The Biblical Case for LGBTQIA Affirmation
A Holy Heretics Short With Gary Alan Taylor
I often hear conservative Christians accuse progressives like me of not taking the Bible seriously when it comes to sexuality or marriage. I’ve been told on numerous occasions the Bible is “clear” when it comes to homosexuality. But, is it?
Did you know there are only six passages in the entire English translation of Scripture that reference homosexuality? Did you also know that up until the 20th century these passages referred to the molestation of young boys and not mutual, same sex relationships? A careful and scholarly reading of the biblical texts points toward inclusion, not bigotry.
In this week’s episode of Holy Heretics Shorts, I offer 17 Reasons The Bible is LGBTQIA Affirming.
If you’ve ever wanted a clear and concise apologetic for inclusion, this podcast episode is for you!
